Survey says pay too low

September 13, 2002

Some Lee County workers could get pay raises. County Administrator Langford Holbrook says a plan to implement a new pay scale will most likely be decided in the next few weeks.

A salary survey and upgrade pay plan was conducted by an outside firm. Holbrook says the new pay scale will not effect everyone. "To others that are shown to be on par with market rates won't mean more money, but it will establish a plan so even those employees will have an idea of where they can go in terms of career path in Lee County."

The salary survey was delayed a few months, and did not start until March.

Holbrook says if the Board approves the pay scale suggestions, the new rates will go into effect in the next pay period.
