Study says employees need technical training

September 13, 2002

Albany- A recent study indicates prospective employees have to become more technologically equipped to succeed, and employers are going to have to offer current employees technical training courses to increase their productivity.

Albany State Associate Vice-President, Dr. Teresa Merriweather Orok, says this study will help create a better workforce in South Georgia.

She says, "A lot of our people here need additional skills in order for them to move up and advance in work places, and we're addressing not only those without jobs but those within the organizations. "

Dr. Orok says the study will continue for the next five years, and researchers hope to form a cooperation with area businesses to help their employees get more technical training.
