ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Tough economic times create challenges for communities, but it's those challenges that the new President and CEO of the Albany area Chamber of Commerce says she's ready to tackle.
Catherine Glover, who took over Monday, was introduced Wednesday at the Chamber's Rise N' Shine breakfast. She says that even though the economy is not fairing well, it is necessary to stay focused on bringing positive growth and prosperity to the business community.
"It's tough economic times, but you know what, we've got a great community here," said Glover. "It's spirited. They're experienced. We've got a good group of volunteers to make things happen. I have no concerns at all that we will be successful. We're all going to hurt a little in the interim. But because of the team we have here, we're going to make it happen."
A native of Maine, Glover was selected from 36 candidates to replace former Chamber President and CEO Tim Martin. She previously held the same position with the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce in New York.
