Albany, GA (WALB)

It's been another successful regular season for the Albany State football team and now the Rams look to move that success into the post season.

The Rams haven't won a playoff game since 2004. Sunday the Rams learned that Tusculum College will be their opponent in the first round of the 2008 Division II playoffs.

Tusculum (8-3) is the champion of the South Atlantic conference. The Pioneers have never been to the playoffs but will bring a 3 game winning streak into the post season.

Albany State (7-3) has been seeded No. 5 while Tusculum received the No. 4 seed.

The Rams will have to play on the road Saturday but Head Coach Mike White is thankful for the opportunity his team has been given.

"It is a new season. You have to be ready to play because a lot of times there's now way to get ready for this but to expierience it. We're very fortunate right now we don't have any major injuries. We had a lot of guys we had lost on the offensive side of the ball but right now we're healthy, we're playing well, and again like I said we want to take this momentum into the playoffs."

Albany State and Tusculum will kick off Saturday in Tusculum, TN. Game time has not been determined. The winner will face top seeded Delta Statein the second round.
