Albany, GA (WALB)-

Darton Women's soccer head coach Ken Veilands was wet on Saturday night and didn't seem to mind at all.

A 6-0 victory over Shelton State won the Cavaliers the 2008 District Championship. The Cavaliers soaked their coach in a shower of ice water from the cooler following the victory and Veilands could hardly keep the smile off his face.

"I can't say enough. I mean you know to see all the things and the growth and everything that they've accomplished from day one until now. Its just special to watch" said Veilands.

Smiles filled the faces of the young ladies as well.

"Everybody on the team, every single person. There's not a weak link and if there is a weak link we all pull together and you know lift up everyone" said Shakira Duncan.

"It feels phenomanal, everything we've worked for. The preseason, all the sprints it all comes down to this moment and we're feeling it" said Rachael McQuade.

"We all came together and put our hearts on the field and that's where we leave it" said Jackie LaBonte.

The Cavaliers will have next week to prepare before heading to Arizona for Nationals. They will learn their seeding and opponent in the middle of next week.
