Twin tower statues in Albany

September 11, 2002

Dougherty County - Two twin tower statues are now a part of Albany's scenery.

Students, teachers, fire and police officers surrounded the two new towers at Turner Job Corps Center.

One of the students, Terence Murray, lost two cousins and an aunt in the world trade centers. He says the memorial statue is special to him. 17-year-old Murray says, "My heart kind of dropped, but life goes on. I'm sorry it did happen, especially to my family and my heart goes out to the other families who lost people in the trade center."

The towers were made out of plaster by Vocational Trade students in just ten days.
