Albany - Voters decided a special election for the Dougherty County School Board. With 656 votes, Willie Weaver easily beat Dorothy Hubbard in the District 3 runoff. He got 67% of the vote.
Weaver is a municipal court judge and attorney. Supporters cheered as they heard the news of Weaver's victory. He will fill the seat vacated when Christine Blaylock died earlier this year.
