Dougherty County -- At the Albany Marine Corps Logistic Base, the response to the nation's Homeland Security Alert warning was, to go about their business as usual. All Department of Defense bases have their own security alert status.
Albany's Marine Corps Logistic Base has been at Force Protection Condition Bravo, one above normal, since last September 11th. Military Police were informed of the alert, but stayed on their normal procedures. But they hope everyone at the base helps them keep watch.
Major Vernon Graham, the base Provost Marshal said "We continue to try and educate and inform the general population of the installation, both military and civilian. They can work for us, to be our eyes and ears."
Military police check identification on all people entering the Marine Base, while patrols continue day and night.
