Rucker Smith wins another term in SW District

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - It looks as if Rucker Smith will serve another four years as the Superior Court Judge for the Southwest Circuit. The incumbent is holding a strong lead over Albany attorney Jimmie Brown.

A group of supporters gathered in Americus to celebrate his victory. This will be Smith's fifth term as Superior Court Judge and he is pleased with the work he has done.

"I think we can improve our efficiencies, but I think we are doing a pretty good job as it is. We really do not have , I just tried cases in Lee County last week and there are no civil cases that wanted to be tried waiting to be tried," said Southwest District Superior Court Judge, Rucker Smith.

Judge Smith said he would like to serve the Southwest district for at least two more terms.
