SUMNER, GA (WALB) - Still no murder charges in the stabbing death of a Worth County man. 52-year-old Joey Sumner was found dead in his home Monday. His live-in girlfriend, 27-year-old Lisa Marie Wade, was arrested several hours later in Berrien County.
She's being held on drug charges because crack cocaine was found in her truck. Investigators are also detaining another woman for questioning. They say she is Wade's relative and was also in the truck.
"We do not have a motive at this time. We are still looking for people who may have had contact with Mr. Sumner over the weekend. We have canvassed the area," said GBI Special Agent, Mark Pro.
Investigators are not sure how long Sumner has been dead. He was last seen alive Saturday around lunch time. They're asking anyone who may have had contact with him since Friday to call the Worth County Sheriff's office at 229-776-8211.
