TIFTON, GA (WALB) - A Tifton woman was arrested Wednesday night after police say she shot her boyfriend in the chest with a handgun.
Officers were called out to Apartment 3 at Deas Apartments on 13th Street in Tifton just after 9:40 p.m. That's where they found Tarod Walker suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Investigators determined that Walker's girlfriend, Linda Deshawn Jackson, who lived at the address, fired the shot. She was taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault.
Walker underwent surgery at Tift Regional Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition early Thursday morning.
Investigators say this shooting took place just yards away from where a 20-year-old man was fatally shot just three months ago.
Jackson is being held in the Tift County Jail.Feedback
