Baton Rouge, LA (WALB) -
It was just a few weeks ago that Bainbridge's Darryl Gamble was making his first start at middle linebacker for the Georgia Bulldogs.
A few weeks later and the former Bearcat's name will now appear in the NCAA record books.
Danelle Ellerbe was sidelined with a sprained knee for the third straight game Saturday.
Daryll Gamble filled the void and made life miserable for the LSU Tigers.
On the opening offensive play for LSU Daryll Gamble returned an intereception for a touchdown.
Late in the ball game with the Bulldogs up 14 Gamble did it again to put the icing on the cake.
2 interceptions returned for touchdowns ties the NCAA record for linebakers.
"Darryl is one of those really athletic linebackers that's got really good ball skills and he made some plays on the ball today and you know the guys did a good job of blocking for him and letting him score. But he's a great player and definitely the two picks he had for touchdowns were big plays" said Matthew Stafford.
"It just happened I don't really remember exactly what was going on but I just know we got the win. Try to get a lot more turnovers try to put offenses in a bind so we put them in a position and actually made the plays so can't complain about that" said Gamble.
Georgia will take on Florida in Jacksonville Saturday.
