TERRELL COUNTY, GA (WALB) - South Georgia families looking to carve the perfect jack'o'lantern will have plenty of pumpkins to choose from this year. Many families made it a day of pumpkin picking at Mark's Melon Patch in Terrell County.

Their country store is surrounded by the orange and brown home grown pumpkins. Mark Daniel planted this year's harvest back in July and says this year's outcome is pretty good.

"We had a good harvest this year. We had more rain than we are used to getting. And even the dry land patches made out pretty well. I was real pleased with the yield overall," said Daniel.

Daniel also planted many specialty varieties including one of his most popular, the white pumpkin.

There is also plenty of activities like a haunted trail, an air pumpkin to bounce in and a hay ride. The activities will continue through Halloween.
