ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Florida man is peddling across the nation to raise awareness about the dangers of underage drinking and driving.

Three years ago Donald Worley became a paraplegic, after being hit by a 17-year-old drunk driver.

He's now trying to get the word out about the dangers of underage drinking and driving.

His journey started in Jacksonville Florida, and will take him to Chicago.

"When I woke up that morning I called my family in and said hey I'm going to hand cycle from here to Chicago to see Oprah Winfrey and it's going to bring awareness to underage drinking and driving and maybe I can help to save a young teenager or someone else who's an innocent victim," said Donald Worley, Biking to Chicago.

Along with other donations, Bikers Against Drunk Driving will donate $10,000 to help Don.

He's not scheduled to meet Oprah but hopes he will.
