VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Calls to suicide hotlines are up.
The Greenleaf Center in Valdosta says the calls that come in to their crisis hotline have increased by 25% in just two and a half months.
They say a majority of those caller complain about the economy, unemployment, stocks and their 401 K's.
"We try to coach them on how to make it through the time and the day. Then what other resources are available for them because there's a lot out there right now when you're dealing with finances and the economy," says Tiffany Burrows of Greenleaf.
The Georgia Crisis and Access line has also seen a large amount of callers.
They say callers depresses about the economy and are up by 64%.
