A South Georgia United Way chapter is one step closer to its annual goal thanks to the efforts of a local hotel.

The Holiday Inn Express in Lake Park announced today that it will donate all proceeds from September 11th to the Lowndes County United Way Chapter.

"We decided to do this because the United Way is such a generous organization that gives to many service agencies in Lowdes County," said Sonal Patel, Hotel Manager.

"I can't thank the Patels enough for this donation," said Jim Godbee, United Way Campaign Chairman. "This really says a lot about them as well as our United Way."

The Lowndes County United Way's goal for this year is the highest they've ever set - 1.35 million dollars.
