ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Do you think you could outsmart a middle schooler? Some Albany parents were put to the test.

Buzzers and scorekeepers were in place Tuesday night for Merry Acres Middle School's "Are You Smarter Than A Middle Schooler?" game.

Parents took on students in 15-question rounds with tough questions in every school subject. The game was part of the Parent Teacher Organization's Family Fun Night, geared towards getting parents involved in their children's education.

"Our goal for the PTO this year was to tighten up the circle between teachers, parents and students because we know the more parents are involved, the more successful the children are going to be," said Merry Acres Middle School PTO Vice-President Laura Calhoun.

Students had the chance to win free homework passes and passes for extra-curricular activity time. The school plans to make it an annual event.
