ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you hear sirens and see a lot of activity around Albany State Tuesday, no need to panic. The school is planning a campus shooting drill.
Under the scenario, there will be 30 victims of a gunman barricaded in the Sanford Gym. Police don't want any panic or worry, but they also want the community to learn from the drill.
Albany State University Police Chief Roberson Brown said "What happened at Virginia Tech, no one had any idea what was coming, what was happening. So I don't want people to start closing their offices and preparing for the drill, because that's not realistic."
Police, firefighters, EMS, and the two Albany Hospitals will all take part in Tuesday morning's drill at Albany State University.
