It has been two months since the Los Angeles Dodgers promoted infielder Victor Diaz to their AA team in Jacksonville, but the former south georgia wave did get enough at bats in Albany to win the South Atlantic League batting title.
Diaz, who won the batting title in the Gulf Coast Lleague last year, was hitting .350 when he was called up.
That average was ten points better than Hickory's Chris Shelton.
Diaz has struggled at the higher level but is hitting .209 with 4 homeruns and 23 r.b.i.'s as Jacksonville opens play in the Southern League playoffs Wednesday night.
