Albany - An argument over a former boyfriend leads to the stabbing death of a South Albany man. 40-year old Penny Green is charged with the murder of her live-in boyfriend, 51-year old George Carter.
Investigators say Carter was stabbed in this home at 904 Cotton Avenue about 11:00 Monday night. Green had one of her daughters call 911 after the stabbing.
Carter became enraged when he saw an ex-boyfriend of Green's near his home Monday afternoon, and the two men got into a fight.
Carter and Green argued throughout the evening about the ex-boyfriend, and investigators say Green took a large kitchen knife and killed him.
Lt. James Williams of the Albany Police said when his officer arrived on the scene, "They found the victim, Mr. George Carter, laying inside the residence in a bloody area, in puddle of blood. He had one stab wound in the upper chest area."
Penny Green was arrested at the Cotton Avenue home, and is charged with murder. This is the 7th homicide in Albany this year.
