Lovejoy- It was a long day of softball at the AAAAA and AAAA south sectionals on Monday.
Lee County and Lowndes High didn't mind the games.
Both teams are headed back to the elite eight in Columbus for a second straight year.
Lee County opened the AAAA south sectionals with a 2-0 win over Ware County and beat Alcovy 3-2 in eight innings.
Lee County lost to Jones County but beat Harris County 5-2 to advance to the AAAA quarterfinals on Thursday.
Lowndes opened the AAAAA sectionals with a 5-0 win over Union Grove and then beat Camden County 6-1.
Lowndes shut out region rival Northside-Warner Robins 1-0 to punch their ticket to Columbus.
Lowndes, Lee County and Worth County all open play at the GHSA softball finals on Thursday in Columbus.
