ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A candidate running for the late Art Searles' county commission seat picked up some endorsements from local political leaders Monday.

Harry James was endorsed by County commissioner John Hayes and city commissioner Jon Howard. James is one of three people running for the district five seat. Hayes and Howard say James is best prepared to serve.

"It's important to have a relationship with those commissioners to be able to go with those citizens to the city, to be able to voice their concerns or their problems within the city limits," said James.

James is running against pastor Henry Brown and Transportation consultant Gloria Gaines.
