ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Forty Korean war veterans and their wives are holding their 21st annual reunion in Albany this weekend.

The veterans of the Army's 68th Artillery Gun Battalion started their reunion with a visit to the Andersonville National Historic Site and Jimmy Carter home.

Most of these men fought together in Korea from 1950 to 1955, forming friendships that have lasted more than 50 years.

"Got to Korea about a week before they broke out of Pusan Perimeter. Our battery was with the British and the American 1st Cav Division in the worst part of the fighting to get out of there. Called the bowling alley," said 68th Battery reunion member Dick Fazakerly.

0406G 8:26: 16 <These reunions are great. Brings back a lot of our friendships. Remember all the ones that are no longer with us," said 68th Battery reunion member Frank Baker.

These veterans will continue their reunion in Albany through Sunday. They are scheduled to meet again next year in Warsaw, Wisconsin.
