Albany - Some South Georgia Seniors enjoyed a rare treat Tuesday, thanks to an Albany restaurant.

Red Lobster donated lunch to the residents at the VMR Retirement home. This Labor Day, the restaurant chain is serving meals at more than 1,000 fire and police departments, seniors care homes, and soup kitchens across the country.

The Albany eatery chose the retirement center, because the residents don't get the chance to eat out very often, and everyone loves those cheese biscuits.

"We want the community to know we care," said Cassandra Floyd with Red Lobster."These seniors don't have a chance to come to the restaurant, so we brought the food to them."

Monday's free lunch is Red Lobster's way of getting a jump on Civic Participation Week, which is September 11th - 17th.
