ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police are still trying to sort out exactly what happened during a wild shootout that injured two people at an Albany motel early Thursday morning.

Police say two men and a woman went the Grand Motel on Radium Springs Road around 1 a.m. with a plan to rob two men.  It ended with an exchange of gunfire.

"They went over to rob two other individuals who were staying at the motel. What we don't know right now is the exact sequence of events that led to two people getting shot, one of the suspected robbers and one of the victims that was inside," said Albany Police Media Manager Phyllis Banks-Whitley.

Police are still looking for one of the robbers whose name they don't know.

They caught and charged 38-year-old Melissa Gail Brown with conspiracy, armed robbery and aggravated assault.  She is also known by the alias Melissa Burris.

The third suspected robber, 40-year-old Charlie James Fountain, was shot then beaten and was critically injured.

The robbery victim who was shot, 27-year-old Travis Vicks, is in good condition.

The other victim, 18-year-old Wayne Patterson is charged aggravated assault for beating Fountain after the shooting.
