ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany family is recognized for their selfless work in the community.

Freddie Nichols says she was shocked when the Albany Woman's Club selected her and her husband, Bill, as the Family of the year, due mostly to the volunteer work the couple does.

She says it's an easy way to give back. "You're doing things for people to help folks, some of them less fortunate than you and some just need the help, so that's why we like to volunteer."

In addition to volunteer work, the Nichols enjoy traveling around the country and around the world.
