ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The city of Americus is fighting a nightclub they think is a nuisance.

Americus city council authorized the city's attorney to file a complaint against the Elk's Club in municipal court asking that the club be shut down. The action comes in the wake of a murder at the club September 19th.

Police say 19-year-old London Morgan stabbed 23-year-old Trampest Arnett to death in the club's parking lot. Eleven people have been arrested in the case. The city council revoked the club's alcohol license in 2006 after a fatal shooting.

The complaint is expected to be filed later this week.
