Albany - A lot of South Georgians are on the road Friday night, heading for high school football games. Pep rallies Friday afternoon got the students all fired up for the kickoff of the Georgia High School football season. One of the biggest games on this first big Friday night of the season, will be the Monroe High Tornadoes versus the Dougherty High Trojans. The two cross town arch rivals opening the season this year, giving the game even more gusto. Dougherty has dominated this rivalry contest for the last 12 years, with Monroe winning only once. The Trojans versus the Tornadoes, kicks off at 7:30 Friday night at Hugh Mills Stadium. A huge crowd is expected, as high school football roars back into full action in South Georgia tonight.
