Albany- The Albany State Rams are helping senior citizens get pepped up and excited about their first game of the season against Valdosta State University.

Albany State football players, the head coach and cheerleaders hosted a kickoff party at Palymra Nursing Home.

The cheerleaders performed several routines to help these seniors get into the spirit. Football players greeted the seniors and thanked them for their support.

Many seniors say the pep rally was just what they needed. Resident, Emily Luke, says, "It invigorates me and makes me want to go out and go to but I can't, of course."

The Albany State University Rams will face the Valdosta State University Blazers Saturday at seven at Hugh Mills Stadium.
