ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Here's an economic trend we all hope will continue. Gas prices are on a downward spiral.

Prices have gone down significantly over the past few days. One month ago, the average price in Georgia was $3.86 a gallon for regular. The average is now $3.32 according to Triple-A.

In Albany Monday, we found many stations selling gas for about $3.17 a gallon but drivers packed into the Enmark on North Slappey to buy it for $3.08.

Brittany Johnson drives miles to school and work and says the prices can add up.

"I'm glad to see it going down. It's really helping me with my budget," said Johnson.

Right now the average price in Georgia remains higher than the national average of $3.20 a gallon.
