ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Tough economic times have many worried about the upcoming holiday shopping season. Just finding that perfect gift might come down to finding the perfect bargain. But one gift that you can give that will keep on giving is the gift of life.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Monday you can donate blood on the campus of Darton College. Right now local blood banks are facing a severe shortage of type O blood, the universal blood which can be given to a person with any blood type. Right now there is a less than a one day supply of type O blood.

The blood drive will last until 3 p.m. Monday afternoon and is hosted by the Darton Association of Nursing Students. For more information the blood drive you contact Darton College at 229-317-6449.
