Valdosta (WALB) - The road does not get any easier for the top ranked Lowndes Vikings.
One week after their big win over then second ranked Northside, Lowndes has to face Valdosta in the Winnersville Classic at Cleveland Field.
The Vikings have won four straight and eight of their last 11 agianst the Cats.
The last two meetings have been close. Valdosta certainly hopes to catch a Lowndes team still celebrating the Northside victory.
Cats coach Rick Tomberlin also knows his team has to limit their mistakes to have a chance against the Vikings.
Rick Tomberlin said. "If we are going to play Lowndes, we don't need to be beating ourselves. We need to protect the ball certainly. We need to play physical on offense and defense and we need to play four quarters all out."
Lowndes head coachRandy McPherson said. "Our community is close knit. Everybody pretty much knows everybody. In one way or another the game comes up every day."
Game time is at 8:00 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN U.
