Athens - Bainbridge's Darryl Gamble will have a new role for the Georgia defense Saturday afternoon against Tennessee.
Senior Danell Ellerbee is out for the Vols with a knee injury and Gamble will move to the middle linebacker position.
Georgia linebackers coach John Jancek has praised the play Darryl Gamble has made in his sophomore season.
The Bulldogs need Gamble to step up in the absence of their senior leader on defense.
Gamble says middle linebacker is where he feels the most comfortable.
Darryl Gamble said "That is what I came in playing as. The one I know the most about. It gives you more leadership to play in the middle and call all the plays. I think it will be a lot on my shoulders this week."
Georgia and Tennessee kick off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Athens.
