ALBANY, GA (WALB) - October 8th was Luke Bryan Day in Lee County.

Students at Lee County Elementary School and the Chamber recognized the country music star for his accomplishments. Bryan treated third, fourth, and fifth graders to a short concert as the school's teachers showed their moves. Bryan was recently nominated for an Academy of Country Music Award as the Top New Male Vocalist. His current single "Country Man" is at number one on Music Row's country breakout chart. Wednesday, Bryan encouraged students to study hard and follow their dreams.

"Fortunately we live in a country where you get to dream up anything you want to be and probably when I was 13 or 14 I kind of decided singing was what I loved to do and I had the opportunity to go do it and in lee County the Lee County School system provided that opportunity for me to be educated about the world and to get out there and having a shot at my dreams so it all started right here," said Luke Bryan, Singer/Songwriter.

Students were excited to have their picture taken with Bryan. He's been on tour this year with Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins, and Dierks Bentley.
