ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Baker County deputy is found not guilty of extortion.

Deputy Chad Smith was accused of extorting money from a criminal suspect. Prosecutors said Smith accepted money from Monica Faye Jones of Colquitt County for not turning her in for a probation violation.

After a day of testimony, jurors delivered the acquittal Wednesday afternoon.
