QUITMAN, GA (WALB) - Two teenagers are now charged in a Brooks County murder.

The 19 year olds are in jail for the beating death of an 87 year old man to death.

Brandon Travis is charged with murder.  Kanisha McKinney is charged with aggravated assault and burglary.

They were arrested last night and investigators say they confessed.

Neighbors told police they saw the two at Daniel Jones apartment Saturday night. He was found dead Sunday.

Police believe they broke into his apartment and beat him in the head.

" This was a senseless killing of a very good man. he was well known in the neighborhood, very well liked. It was just a brutal senseless killing," says Quitman Police Chief Wesley Ross.

Police can't figure out why Jones was killed.

McKinney had apparently lived with him for several weeks.

Police say it doesn't appear that anything was stolen from the apartment.
