Valdosta - Some South Georgia students begin their school year in a brand new school. After nearly three years of construction, Valwood School in Valdosta opened its doors to more than 350 students this week.
The new school is located on Old Highway 41 North, and is three times the size of the old school.
"We were bursting at the seams at the Gornto Road location, so we really needed bigger space and better space," said Scott Wilson, Headmaster.
The school's dining hall and athletic center are still under construction, but should be finished in four to six weeks.
