Albany - Albany State football team has a big SIAC showdown with Clark Atlanta on homecoming this Saturday at the Albany Municipal Coliseum.
The Rams head into homecoming on a very positive note after Saturday's 35-14 win over Stillman.
A win there the Rams have over 450 yard in offense and held the Tigers to just 61 yards rushing.
Albany State players look forward to homecoming and to the news they are ranked tenth in the first NCAA DII south regional poll that will determine the six teams who make the playoffs.
Quarterback Kisan Flakes is looking forward to the game but hopes that all of the homecoming hype won't be a distraction.
Flakes said "A lot of activities out on the field as far as the students out here and alumni coming. I wouldn't say they're distractions but everybody's mentality is gonna have to be focused."
Albany State quarterback A.J. McKenna was named the SIAC newcomer of the week and offensive lineman Pedro Bennett named the co-offensive lineman of the week.
