ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police are searching for an armed robber who stole thousands of dollars from a Krispy Kreme employee.

47-year-old Phyllis Woodward says a man wearing a bandana over his face robbed her when she left the business just after 5:00PM Sunday.

Woodward said the robber pulled a gun and grabbed the business cash box that contained thousands of dollars in cash and five thousand dollars in checks.

The robber was last seen in a blue older model Pontiac TransAm.

Woodward was hospitalized with chest pains.
