ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Lee County election officials want to make sure voters have all the information they need before they cast their ballot.

More than 600 people in Lee County have cast an early ballot. Many have requested absentee ballots and change of address forms in advance of today's deadline to register to vote. The election office also sent out a newsletter hoping to clear up any questions voters may have.

"We sent out a newsletter to every residential address in Lee County and our hope was that the people will use those newsletters to access information that they would otherwise have to call our office to get. The more information we can put in the voters hands we fell the better we feel like it will be for them and for us," said Veronica Johnson, Lee County Elections Supervisor.

The newsletter contained a sample ballot, information on the constitutional amendments, and helpful election day tips. They encourage voters who want to avoid the long lines election day to vote during early voting.
