ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Lee County High School's student store is number one in the nation.

Students received a gold level rating for the school-based enterprise and their research on customer service from the National DECA Competition.

The store carries snack items, drinks, Lee County merchandise, school supplies, and popular muffins and Texas buns. The store is open before and after the school day and gives students real world marketing experience.

"This has helped me significantly. You're making daily deposits, you're taking to vendors, you're providing great customer service, you're running the store and that's what I do," said Matt Johns, Campus Store CEO.

Students say they've learned customer service goes a long way toward making a successful business.
