ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Marines spent this day of caring making repairs at the Southwest Georgia Therapeutic Riding Center.

15 Marines from the Albany Logistics Base joined other volunteers at

the Therapeutic Riding Center, where people with special needs develop skills and exercise on horseback.

The Marines picked up hammers and saws and paint brushes to lend a hand.

Therapeutic Riding Center Director Tara Okon said "This is wonderful. I don't have a whole lot of manly help out herre. So to have the guys out here building fences and fix our round pens, and fix gates on stall doors that are sagging, it's wonderful."

The Marines say they don't have a lot of time for volunteering, and enjoyed this chance to help the community.
