Sales of insect repellent in South Georgia are skyrocketing because of fear of the west nile virus . Sales of insect repellent are up at most stores in Albany. Experts say a repellent with DEET is the best defense against the mosquitoes that carry west nile. Walgreens has its repellent display right by the front door.
Walgreen's Manager Keith Brendel said "Oh yea, specifically looking for things with DEET in it. They are definitely looking for those specific items to help keep the mosquitoes taken care of. "
