BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - A man is in jail Wednesday charged with the armed robbery of a Bainbridge gas station.

21-year-old David Edwards was arrested late Tuesday night after a holdup at the BP station at Shotwell and West Street.

The clerk said Edwards pulled a gun and demanded money.

Police say when they arrested Edwards a short time later, they found evidence from the robbery at his house. They also found three children under the age of three that were home alone for several hours.

"The suspect was arrested charged with three counts of cruelty to a child felonies. He was also charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a felon, and other charges," says Frank Green, Chief Investigator for Bainbridge Public Safety.

No one was hurt in the robbery and the children are OK. Feedback
