Valdosta - Number one ranked Valdosta State getting ready for their big Thursday night showdown against Gulf South rival Delta State.
The Blazer football team also thinking about former teammate Richard Collier.
The VSU football team will wear Colliers' number 75 on the back of their helmets for the rest of the season.
Collier was shot earlier this month and Monday his doctors announced the Jacksonville Jaguars lineman is paralyzed from the waist down and his left leg amputated after he was shot 14 times.
Valdosta State head coach David Dean says it was very difficult to see tragedy strike a former player who was liked by the Blazer coaching staff and players.
David Dean said "Richard was a great kid he always had a smile on his face. He worked hard we never had a minute of trouble with him he was always where he was supposed to be.
Collier was a member of Valdosta State's 2004 National Championship team.
