ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Municipal Court Judge Willie Weaver has been relieved of his duties in Warwick.

A source tells WALB News Ten that city officials felt Weaver had become too lenient with his rulings.

Judge Weaver was sent a letter from the Warwick city council informing him that his services were no longer needed. Municipal Court judges serve at the will of the city council.

When we questioned Mayor Alan Peacock about Weaver's dismissal, he refused to comment.

The Warwick city council hired attorney Bert Gregory to replace Weaver.

Weaver remains Municipal Court judge in Albany and is running for Dougherty Superior Court judge. Feedback
