ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Atkinson County man, who state troopers say fell asleep behind the wheel before a fatal crash that killed his wife, remains in the hospital Monday night.
Salvador Diaz was transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center after that fatal accident Saturday morning.
His wife 66-year-old Maria Contreras died when the car went off Ice Plant road and overturned.
Both were wearing seat belts and state troopers say Diaz will not face charges.
