ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Rising fuel costs are to blame for the closure of an Ashburn business and the loss of 200 jobs.

Centrapak re-packages and distributes candy products shipped from the M&M Mars distribution plant in Kennesaw, north of Atlanta.

As part of a cost cutting plan, the operation will close its doors in February, affecting 40 full time and 160 part time employees.

The company spent $15,000 a day for the two way trip transporting candy between Kennesaw and Ashburn.
