The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce has a new president.  The Chamber Board of Directors selected Catherine Glover from a nationwide pool of 36 candidates.

Glover will replace Tim Martin who served as chamber president for seven and half years.  He was relieved of his duties in March.

The search committee chairman says Glover stood out from all the other candidates.

"Looking at what she's accomplished in her previous position, she's worked with organizations that needed to make improvements and changes and she's been able to help turn around organizations, not that the Albany chamber needs turning around because we're a five star chamber already," said the Chairman of the Search Committee, John McDuffie.

Glover also served as the President and CEO of the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber and was Executive Director of the Freeport, Maine Merchants Association.

Her first day on the job will be November 10th.
