THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The mother of a Thomas County man who shot and killed his wife and step-son last year was convicted this week of helping her son get away after the murder.

39-year old Timothy James pleaded guilty to the murders last month and is serving two life sentences.

On April 23, 2007 he killed his wife and 16 year old stepson.

His mother,  58 year old Johnnie James, and three other friends and family members were charged with helping him escape after the crime. The court date for the other three was postponed. Feedback
